On a crisp January afternoon, the energy inside Jegna Klub Headquarters felt electric. Studio lights warmed the room, microphones stood ready, and a quiet anticipation filled the air as the JC Harmon High School Football Team walked in — not just as athletes, but as young men ready to tell their story. Their visit on January 10, 2026, to be interviewed by JegnaTalk: For Youth By Youth interns, became a powerful moment of reflection, resilience, and renewal — one that will soon be heard on JEGNAFEST Worldwide Radio and streamed in full on the Jegna Klub TV Network.
The story unfolding that day was bigger than football. It was about rising together through adversity, about being seen beyond the scoreboard, and about young voices finding confidence in spaces designed for them.
For some players, stepping in front of the camera brought nerves. Leonel Tovar admitted he arrived anxious, wanting to make a good impression. He worried about saying the wrong thing, about representing himself and his team the right way. But once the conversation started, something shifted. The nerves faded. The energy felt familiar. “It felt like I met people that I have something in common with,” he shared later, describing the environment as rewarding, a place where authenticity was welcomed.

That sense of connection was intentional. The Jegna Klub is built on creating safe, professional, and youth-led spaces, where students gain real-world experience in media, interviewing, and leadership — not by being talked at, but by being listened to.
Under the lights and cameras, Emontee Day found himself doing something he wasn’t used to — opening up. While the studio setup was new, the atmosphere quickly put him at ease. He described feeling comfortable and relaxed, even as he spoke honestly about his journey. For him, the experience was uplifting, because it allowed him to speak not just for himself, but for his teammates, family, loved ones, and community.
That theme — speaking for something bigger than yourself — echoed throughout the day.

Darion Myrick, who came in confident thanks to prior interview experience, still found unexpected value in the moment. What stood out most wasn’t the cameras, but the people. The engagement. The welcoming energy. The conversations that began even before the microphones were turned on. He later described the experience as tough — not in difficulty, but in quality — a different, meaningful space where youth voices mattered.

Watching from the side was Head Coach Keith O’Neal, whose pride was impossible to miss. Before arriving, his hope was simple: that his players would represent KCK football with integrity. They did more than that. As he watched them speak openly and confidently, he described the feeling as being like a proud father. What stood out to him most was the connection — not just among his team, but between his players and the Jegna Klub crew. To him, the greatest value was clear: this experience made his athletes feel noticed for their hard work, not just judged by their record.

That record — one that has “much to be desired,” as openly acknowledged during the interview — did not define the narrative. Instead, honesty did.
Jegna Klub intern Teon Ingram, serving as a co-interviewer, reflected on how often the Harmon program has been dismissed or misunderstood. Hearing how the players stayed committed to changing the narrative of their school left an impression. It reminded him to cherish what you have and to recognize growth even when it isn’t immediately visible.

Another coach and mentor, Keyron Kimbrough, shared a powerful takeaway: don’t judge a book by its cover. The positivity and transparency coming from the Harmon players and their coach challenged assumptions. Their ability to face adversity with optimism wasn’t just inspiring — it was contagious. It gave Jegna interns a real-time example of peers pushing forward despite challenges.
This is exactly the intersection where JegnaTalk thrives — youth interviewing youth, building empathy, sharpening communication skills, and amplifying stories that deserve light. Through platforms like JEGNAFEST Worldwide Radio, which reaches listeners across the globe, and the Jegna Klub TV Network, these moments extend far beyond the studio walls.
For the JC Harmon Football Team, this visit wasn’t about rewriting the past — it was about reclaiming the present and shaping the future. It was about breaking old narratives, strengthening identity, and recognizing that resilience isn’t just built on wins, but on accountability, unity, and growth.
As the interviews wrapped and the lights dimmed, what remained was something lasting: confidence gained, connections formed, and a reminder that when youth are given space to speak — and adults are willing to listen — powerful things happen.
At Jegna Klub Headquarters that day, one thing became clear: adversity does not have the final word. When young people rise together, their voices become stronger, their stories more powerful, and their future brighter.
