Welcome to the first edition of We Not Me: Conversations From District 1.
Over the next several weeks, I want to take you beyond the commission chambers, beyond the meetings, beyond the headlines, and into the real work of serving our community.
This blog isn’t about politics.

It’s about people.
It’s about the families working hard every day.
The young people searching for opportunities.
The small business owners investing in our neighborhoods.
The residents who care enough to speak up and get involved.
Many people only see elected officials when a vote is taken or when a camera is rolling.

But leadership happens long before that.
It happens in neighborhood conversations.
It happens at community events.
It happens while listening to concerns.
It happens while building relationships.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll talk about:

• Why I believe “We Not Me” is more than a slogan.
• What I learned growing up in District 1.
• The challenges facing our community.
• The opportunities ahead of us.
• Why our youth are one of our greatest investments.
• What economic empowerment really means.
• How we can create safer, stronger neighborhoods.
• The future I believe is possible for Wyandotte County.
And along the way, I’ll share stories, lessons, challenges, victories, and some things most people never get to see.
Because if we’re going to build the future together, we have to understand each other first.

ON THE HORIZON

NEXT WEEK IN WE NOT ME CONVERSATIONS
Every philosophy has an origin story.
Before “We Not Me” became a message, it was a lesson—one learned through real-life experiences, community relationships, successes, setbacks, and moments that changed the way I viewed leadership.
Next week, I’ll share the untold story behind the phrase and why those three words continue to guide every decision I make as your District 1 Commissioner.
Sometimes the smallest phrases carry the biggest stories.
So here’s my question for you:
What is one issue, opportunity, or concern you would like me to address in an upcoming blog?
Drop a comment, send a message, or stop me in the community.
This blog belongs to all of us.
Because leadership has never been about me.
It’s always been about WE.
